Education
Bull Run Mountains Conservancy offers engaging educational programs for all ages. Our programming is rooted in fostering a deep appreciation for the ecological, historical, and cultural features of the Bull Run Mountains region.
At BRMC, preservation is not a hands-off policy; instead, we focus on connecting people with the land and conducting research to better understand and protect our natural resources.

Hike with a Naturalist
Monthly at Leopold's Preserve
From identifying birds and reptiles to hiking through the winter woods to gathering important data for local stream conservation—there's a Youth Outdoors program for everyone. All of our offerings get young people out into nature where they get an up-close look at how our local natural systems function.
Explore the trails with our professional naturalists to learn more about the local ecosystem. These guided walks offer a closer look at the plants, wildlife, and seasonal changes within our region. Whether you are interested in bird identification, forest health, or local geology, our hikes provide an educational experience for all skill levels in a relaxed outdoor setting.

BRMC's Homeschool Programs are designed for learners of all ages. Each session is led by a professional naturalist on a two-hour hike through Leopold's Preserve. Every hike explores a unique theme, such as forest ecology, geology, watershed health, and local human history.
Join us for our Speaker Series, featuring guest experts who explore the unique environment and history of the Bull Run Mountains.
